Confirm the approved sample and tolerances before production. The pattern spacing above is an indicative reading from a ruler photograph. It needs physical sample confirmation. Thickness, dimensional tolerances and any required technical documents should be agreed for the exact product.
How to Measure the Diagonal Color Spacing
Measure the red and yellow sections along the same long edge of the tape. Mark the points where each diagonal boundary meets that edge. The distance between corresponding points in the next pattern is the repeat.
For the sample reference, approximately 70 mm of red plus 70 mm of yellow gives a repeat of approximately 140 mm. This is an along-edge measurement. A measurement perpendicular to the sloping stripe boundary describes a different dimension.
- Show the tape edge and measuring direction on your drawing.
- Specify the red section, yellow section and full repeat separately.
- Confirm left- or right-sloping stripes and any matching arrangement.
- Include the tape width and agreed tolerances in the sample approval.
Are Both Red and Yellow Sections Reflective?
Yes. Both the red and yellow sections of this sample are reflective. The photograph below shows their illuminated appearance. When requesting a custom color combination, identify which sections must be reflective so the proposed construction can be confirmed.
Reflective tape needs an external light source. It is different from glow-in-the-dark tape, which absorbs light and releases a fading glow. Compare the red and yellow areas under consistent illumination, and keep an unprinted or agreed reference sample where relevant.
Photographs help review appearance, but do not provide a numerical retroreflectivity value or demonstrate compliance with a test standard. Multiple Colors and Custom Options

You are not limited to one color combination. The Xingyuan catalog shows red/yellow, red/white, yellow/black and other contrasting layouts. Custom colors and patterns can be discussed using your reference or artwork. Available combinations depend on the selected construction and order requirements.
For custom supply, specify the colors, diagonal direction, repeat dimensions, roll width, roll length, quantity and packaging. Identify which colored sections must remain reflective. Do not assume that a black contrast section has the same reflective behavior as the adjoining color.
The 50 mm × 50 m configuration in the sample table is different from catalog items listed as 45 m rolls. Confirm the exact length on the quotation and packing specification. For color matching, approve a physical sample rather than relying solely on a screen image.
Thickness: With or Without the Release Liner?
Thickness comparisons are meaningful only when they describe the same layers. For this sample, 0.24 mm excludes the removable release liner; 0.34 mm includes it. Both are nominal supplier-declared figures.
If a buyer requests approximately 0.13 mm, this particular 0.24 mm sample is a thicker alternative and needs explicit acceptance. This does not mean every PVC reflective tape has the same thickness. State whether the requirement covers the finished adhesive tape or the complete construction with liner.
Packing Reference for This Sample
The supplied packing reference is one roll per blister pack, 24 rolls per carton, and a carton size of 36 × 36 × 32 cm. Custom packaging can be discussed. Confirm carton quantity, weights and shipping marks for the final order.
